A source of protein for vegetarians

Category : Pictures

Meat eaters are often baffled at whether vegetarians can get any reasonable amount of protein.

Here's one "Buckwheat". It contains 22.5 grams of protein, 17g dietary fibre, 3% DV calcium, 21% DV Iron.

Incidentally Buckwheat is known as "Kutu" flour in the Indian subcontinent and is used to make "puris" and used mainly fasting when grains are not allowed.

Boil a fistful, mix it up in your salad and enjoy!
