In encounters we remember, we make connections with people rooted in who they really are—their passions. In 2012, when we realized these encounters are sparse on existent social media, theHOBMOB™ (HBM) was born.

theHOBMOB’s mission is to connect people with others who share their passions, and to encourage interdisciplinary conversations. Here's an example: Susanna created a Travel subinterest for her Cultural Geography homeschool class. Each week, her students posted about the countries they studied on theHOBMOB. theHOBMOB helped them interact with travelers all over the world, merging their interests in food, culture, language, and beyond.

Our core team is composed of Vidushi, a student at Princeton, Rajat, a finance guy and wheatgrass aficionado, and Hemen, an innovative computer entrepreneur. We hope you share the journey with us as our project grows.

Hemen is a serial entrepreneur and is passionate to change people’s lives by creating products/services that take people by awe. He believes that there is only one nation defined by Earth’s citizens, with no geographical boundaries between humans. theHOBMOB delivers this "one nation" social networking experience that allows people to connect with other people who have same passions, hobbies, and interests. He's excited to meet and exchange stuff with Rolling Stones fans all over the the world on theHOBMOB.com!

Rajat’s interests include everything from finance to painting and philosophy. He believes that poetry in motion creates art and that all mind and matter simply transcend to "nimitta". A hiatus from work after the financial meltdown piqued Rajat's interest in social network propagation and drew him to the help create a medium with gravitas.
